Advent Calendar From Baby Food Jars (Part 2 of 2)
Here is the part 2 of baby food jars craft. See the part one of this series.
A cute project one of my kids brought home from daycare was a baby food jar turned upside down, filled with blue water (food coloring) and oil (like the lava lamps), and with the glittery confetti cut in shapes that you can buy now.
I think they painted the lids and then hot glued them shut so the liquid wouldn't leak. They were really cute, and I thought a clever idea for a four year old to do for a project. They may have even painted or pasted small fish shapes on the outside of the jars.
decorated glass jars -- can paint the outside or glue a circle onto the lid and gather into a ruffle with a rubberband under which you've glued, then tie with a ribbon
The paint (or maybe stick-on letters) could be describing contents or say "#1 MOM" or something similar glue a little figurine on the underside of the lid. Fill the jar with water and moth flakes. Make sure the lid seals back onto the jat.
Shake it up and it looks like it is snowing
Glue (Glossy Mod Podge) tissue paper on the outside of the jar and put a tea candle inside.

Advent Calendar From Baby Food Jars (Part 1 of 2)
Another craft idea about Advent Calendar
Since we're overloaded with baby food jars (sick kitty) even after donating to the Y daycare and 1st grade teacher, I figured it would be great to build some of these trees with David. Then over the weekend I realized that if I built one of them like this:
I would have a tree of 25 jars to fill with little trinkets and use as an advent calendar.
Bath Salts
Epsom salts
food coloring
fragrance (ex:scented oils)
Fill a baby food jar, label, and put a pretty covering on the jar lid. (I use wrapping paper and ribbon)
Finger Paint
1/4 cup cornstarch
2 cups cold water
food coloring
mix ingredients in saucepan. Boil until mixture thickens. Cool, pour into containers I usually double this recipe, omit the food coloring, and pour this into several jars, then add the food colors.
Back to the baby food jars.
If the kids are old enough they could hot-glue lace or appliques on the jars. The lids could be on or off.
Possible uses:
fill the jars with potpouri (sp?)
candy
cut slit in lid for penny jar.
(To be continued in part 2)

Dryer Scent Bag
Sew a small pillow (Mine is about 3"x 5"). I used ordinary fabric that I had left over from making kitchen curtains. I filled it with dried lavender and trimmed the edges with lace.
Instead of dryer sheets to make your clothes smell nice, toss the bag in your clothes dryer each time. My clothes smell wonderful! I'm not sure how much use you can get out of it, but I have been using it for about 4 months and it still smells like new.

Upright Vacuum Cleaners Have Many Merits
Not all homes have this carpet, of course, but most of the homes are carpeted in at least some of their rooms. Very often, carpeting is in the rooms, and often in the living room or den, too. For people who are carpeted wall-to-wall carpeted or more areas, a vacuum cleaner upright is the right choice. First, upright vacuums have more suction power than do ball vacuums. Their engines are stronger, its roads are cleaning in general and are basically more durable. They are not made for delicate work, and that are designed to perform in the face of pet hair, dirt, dirt, debris, and all kinds of conditions of the vacuum.
They can not withstand the wet ground, but they are the best choice for carpet, regardless of the length of the battery or the general condition. The upright vacuum is chosen by most people, and is also the most commonly sold in chain retail stores. There are some companies that make vacuum cleaners stand, which are very expensive, and these brands are sold door-to-door or through specialty shops. A person can not walk into a retail store and buy a standard. In addition to its durability and suction power, the vacuum vertical also offers options and attachments. There are many different colors, patterns, brands and styles. A person can also get different engine sizes and cleaning roads. Besides, what kind of filtration is offered and the type of containment system in bags or bagless are other considerations for those who are going to buy an upright vacuum cleaner.
People who buy vacuum vertical are also often interested in attachments which provides the vacuum. Most have a long tube that can be used between sofa cushions and in small areas that are difficult to reach. They also have a brush attachment to collect better hair and lint, and that often contain other attachments that can be used in the curtains and furniture. For very delicate tissues, however, the upright vacuum cleaner is not recommended because it can damage with its powerful suction. In general, however, the upright vacuum cleaner is a good option for most homeowners. For those who are concerned about the weight of a vacuum cleaner vertical self-propelled models and models lighter weight are also readily available, and guarantees are generally very good.
